FaultyCat (v2.2) is an evaluation device built for security testing of embedded systems. It brings together the hardware you need to attack a chip physically: electromagnetic fault injection (EMFI), glitching of critical signals, and analysis of undocumented debug interfaces like SWD and JTAG.

Good for:

  • Electromagnetic fault injection to induce glitches without direct contact.
  • Glitching critical signals to bypass security checks (e.g. read-out protection).
  • Exploring and attacking undocumented SWD and JTAG debug interfaces.

Notes: From Electronic Cats. Fault injection is fiddly and often destructive — practice on sacrificial targets, and pair it with the Hextree fault-injection courses in Resources to learn the technique.
