The XGecu T48 (TL866-3G) is a universal programmer widely used for hardware research. It reads and writes a huge range of flash and EEPROM chips, making it a go-to tool for chip-off firmware extraction — desolder a SPI or parallel NAND flash chip, drop it into the appropriate adapter, and dump the firmware for analysis, or write modified firmware back.
Good for:
- Dumping SPI NOR flash (25-series) and parallel NAND from IoT and embedded devices.
- Reflashing modified firmware during research.
- Reading EEPROMs and microcontrollers.
Notes: You will usually need adapters or a SOIC-8 clip for the specific chip package. Pair it with a hot-air rework station for the chip-off itself.
